Setting Up a Computer for UbiSim (Link Cable)

Please follow these steps to ensure a smooth experience with UbiSim:

  1. Login to your Windows account on your PC.

  2. Ensure that Windows has the latest update installed. Look for Windows updates and run a check for updates.

  3. Download and install GeForce Experience. Check for driver updates in GeForce Experience. If the graphics card is not from NVIDIA, please ensure that the latest drivers are installed.

  4. Download and install the latest version of the Chrome web browser. UbiSim works with Chrome web browser.

  5. Download the Oculus software and App then create a free account. Click here!

  6. Connect the headset to the computer and let the Oculus software update the headset firmware.

  7. You should have been provided access to the UbiSim installer. Open the file to install UbiSim on your Windows 10 computer. Watch this video for the installation of UbiSim:

Please note that it is important to update graphics card drivers, Windows, and the Oculus on a regular basis. By default, the updates are automatically done.


Set up of the equipment

The following is the procedure for setting up the computer and the Virtual Reality headset. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to set up the equipment.

  1. If you are using a laptop, connect the charger of the computer to an electrical outlet.

  2. Turn on the computer.

  3. Connect the USB port with the blue tip in one of the USB 3.0 ports of the computer and the other connector in the Mini Display Port.

  4. Connect to the Internet.

  5. Launch the Oculus program on the desktop and check that the headset is well connected. You should see the screen below acknowledging that the headset and controllers are well connected.

6. Ensure that you have the space required to run a safe and comfortable simulation experience. The recommended space is 7 feet by 7 feet (2.13 meters by 2.13 meters) for a comfortable experience. There are a lot of possible configurations for setting up the equipment. Our VR simulation expert team can assist you in defining the best possible space arrangement within your space requirements.

Each VR headset should be stored with their respective controllers as these are paired during the setup of the equipment.
