The Scenario Editor

Perhaps one of UbiSim's most unique and exciting features, the Editor gives you the option to customize and even create new scenarios!

Updated over 4 months ago

Users with a Trainer or Admin account have the ability to edit and create their own Scenarios. This is a very valuable feature because it allows faculty to customize scenarios in such a way that it matches their curriculum.

Editing a Scenario

The first thing to keep in mind is that Scenarios created by UbiSim must first be duplicated before they can be edited. This is to protect the integrity of the original Scenario.

1. Click on the Scenarios tab, and then click on a Scenario:

2. In the Scenario page, click the ‘Actions’ button, click ‘Duplicate & Edit,’ then click ‘Yes’:

3. You are now in the Scenario Editor. It consists of several different sections - Simulation, Documents, Supplies, Environment, Scenario, and Debriefing:

Please watch the video below for a technical deep dive into the scenario editor. Time stamps corresponding to each section have been added below for your convenience:

1. 00:00 Introduction

2. 00:43 Accessing the Editor

3. 01:56 Simulation Page

4. 04:20 Documents Page

5. 05:33 Supplies Page

6. 08:18 Environment Page

7. 11:34 Scenario Page: Overview

8. 13:08 Scenario Page: Physio State

9. 14:08 Scenario Page: Transitions

11. 20:51 Scenario Page: Shared Modules - Dialogs

12. 22:53 Scenario Page: Shared Modules - Medical Orders & Lab Results

Creating a Scenario (from scratch)

To create a Scenario from scratch, you can go to the Scenarios page and click the ‘Create New’ button:

This will take you to the same exact editor page that was discussed in the previous section. The only difference is that everything is blank; there are no pre-filled details as you’d see if you duplicate an existing scenario.

Reminder: Tutorial Scenarios cannot be edited.
