The UbiSim web portal is your one-stop-shop for learning more about our wide range of scenarios, editing and creating your own scenarios, managing your classes, and much more.
Please note: The portal is available to all user types; Admins & Trainers (usually given to instructors or program coordinators) and Learners (given to students). However, for the purpose of showcasing the full extent of the portal, this article will demonstrate an Admin account. Trainers and Learners will not have all of the options and permissions that an Admin does:
Trainers can only create and edit scenarios if an Admin has given them permission. Learners never have this option.
Only Admins and Trainers can create Classes; Learners only have the option to join them.
Admins can choose to restrict Learners from accessing the 'Scenarios' page and instead requiring them to join a Class before they can play any scenarios.
Login Page
Upon clicking the link to the web portal, you will see a log in screen prompting you to enter your username and password as well as a green arrow button to log in. You can also click the 'Forgot Password' link if you don't remember your password and need to create a new one:
Dashboard
The first tab on the top left of the page is your Dashboard. Here, you can get a high-level overview of your institution's usage over the past year, including the number of sessions ran, hours of simulation per learner, and total number of simulation hours:
Scenarios
The second tab is 'Scenarios,' where you can review our catalog of scenarios, manage the scenarios you've created or edited and view the scenarios created by other UbiSim users. You can also create your own scenarios from this page:
If you click on a specific scenario, you can click the 'Actions' button which gives you the option to duplicate & edit UbiSim scenarios, edit your own scenarios, as well as view the settings, delete scenarios and share your scenarios with the community (note: the share option is only available to clients and not free trial users):
Live Sessions
The Live Sessions page is open to all user types, and it is where users can view any active sessions as well as facilitate or observe a session:
Performance
In the Performance page, users can see a list of all completed sessions:
Clicking on any one session will pull up the 'session feedback,' 'guided reflection' and 'post-simulation quiz,' which help you evaluate your Learners' playthrough (these three tabs are also known as the 'Debriefing'):
Users can learn more about the debriefing in UbiSim.
User Management
The User Management page is only available to Admin users. Here, you can see a list of all existing users in your institution, and invite additional faculty members or learners (individually or in bulk):
You also have the option to activate, deactivate, delete or modify the roles of your users:
Admins can learn more about adding/modifying new users and user roles.
New! You can also create Cohorts, which allow for a much smoother user management experience. For instance, you can specify when a cohort of learner accounts is deactivated at the end of a term so you don't have to deactivate each account manually.
Admin Settings
The Admin Settings page is only available to users with an Admin role, and it allows for management of settings and updates:
Admins can learn more about the different settings and managing updates.
Classes
Classes are a good way for instructors to keep track of all their students, review usage analytics, and assign only specific scenarios. Only Trainers and Admins have the option to create a Class:
Learners have the option to Join a Class:
Admins and Trainers can learn more about an Intro to Classes, and Learners can learn more about how to join a Class.
