Discovering UbiSim!

Updated this week

UbiSim and your Journey with us

Overall Presentation of the Platform (approx. 7mn)

UbiSim provides standardized clinical simulation scenarios in immersive Virtual Reality.

The virtual patient progresses through different states. Each new state is triggered by "conditions," which are actions the student takes during the simulation.

Specific changes in the virtual patient’s condition require students to evaluate and treat the change(s). By implementing appropriate nursing interventions in an efficient manner, the patient's condition will improve, thus preventing undesired outcomes.

This video will introduce you to UbiSim and the main features of the platform:

General Flow of a VR simulation Session on UbiSim

Each simulation session involves a few stages. Here are the different stages of a VR simulation scenario.

a. Check the VR equipment and log in to UbiSim.

b. Select the scenario of your choice and read the pre-briefing information of the selected scenario. Start the simulation.

c. Once in VR, you will receive a brief handover and your objective is to best manage your patient.

d. Once you have managed your scenario, you will be able to leave the simulation by yourself or your peer will end it for you.

e. You will have access to structured feedback on your performance, self-reflective questions on your simulation experience as well as an audio-video recording of your session.

You have the opportunity to repeat the scenario to improve your overall performance by addressing the opportunities for improvements highlighted in the simulation feedback.
