Before starting a Session on a VR headset using a link cable, please ensure you've set up your computer according to these guidelines.
Starting a Session from the UbiSim Portal
1. Log into the UbiSim Portal at https://my.ubisimvr.com/login.
2. Click the 'Scenarios' tab on the left hand side, and select your scenario:
3. Click the 'Start VR Session' tab, then click "Launch in VR":
4. Read the Health and Safety warnings, then click 'Start Scenario':
5. Prior to starting the scenario, you can choose the 'Join as a Facilitator' option (more info about facilitating a session here) or 'Join as Active Participant'.
You can also choose to enable multiplayer, allow ghost observers (i.e. non-active participants), and mute other players (if they will all be in the same physical location):
6. Select your Avatar and start the simulation:
Join a Session that has already been started:
1. Log into the UbiSim Portal and click on the 'Live Sessions' tab. Find the session you wish to join, then click the 'Join' button:
2. You will be presented with a 'Participant Briefing' popup. Read through it, then click 'Continue':
3. Read through the health & safety warnings, then click 'Launch in VR':
Students can join a session from the same computers or from different computers.
If you are using the same computer for participants:
One person starts a scenario while being connected via a cable and the other person can act as a facilitator by enabling/triggering the dialogues from the bottom of the page on the desktop view in the UbiSim portal.
Once you're in the VR room: if you take off your headset and look at your computer, you'll see a view of the room, etc., mirroring what's seen in your headset as well as the dialogue options.
